Saving Lives in Haiti: Arch and Nonprofit Partner at 2009 Water Disinfection Conference
April 6, 2009 — Arch and its nonprofit partner in Haiti teamed up at the recent 2009 Water Disinfection conference in Atlanta to showcase the life-saving work we are jointly pursuing in that island nation.
Arch recently sponsored International Action Haiti — the nonprofit agency that is using our calcium hypochlorite or dry chlorine pellets to provide clean drinking water to more than 400,000 people in that island nation — so they could participate in the Water Environment Federation's 2009 Disinfection Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
At their booth, International Action Haiti provided insights into how they're using simple feeder systems and Arch's cal hypo to combat waterborne illnesses and improve people's lives with access to plentiful supplies of clean water. For insights into this life-saving work, you can check out International Action Haiti's Web site at http://www.haitiwater.org.
Arch's municipal water treatment business had a booth at the conference at which we displayed our new "mini-muni" feeder system for use in sanitizing drinking water in small municipalities. These feeders use our dry, calcium hypochlorite as the sanitizing agent.
